Better than Wavesecure!!!, March 22, 2011

This app is superior to McAfee's wavesecure in that you do NOT have to go through the trouble of rooting your phone in order to allow REMOTE enabling of your GPS to accurately find your phone.

For Wavesecure to be useful the GPS needs to already be turned on on your phone (unless you're a root user which I am not). Also being able to retrieve the last 10 or so incoming/outgoing phone calls remotely is a pretty powerful feature to be able to have.

The program also does remote locking well.

I just wish the "Alarm" notification where it states "Please help me find my owner" would stay on longer than one beep while my phone is on it's lock screen. I noticed if my phone is unlocked and I send the alarm notification the alarm continues like it's supposed to.

Oh and to "hide" the app on your phone you have to enable that remotely from the website then reboot your phone.

SeekDroid is EXACTLY what I was looking for in a security product if I ever lost my Droid X. I looked at competitor's software, but they all wanted a monthly subscription to provide equal or inferior service. I love being able to see the last 10 phone calls as well as locking the phone remotely, and I especially love the fact that I can wipe both the phone and the Micro SD card. All of these other functions are located at the SeekDroid Web site.

Pros:
- One-time fee (no monthly subscription)
- Ability to view last 10 phone calls
- Ability to wipe the phone (and/or SD card) remotely
- Ability to hide the software as it runs on the phone
- Ability to view location of the phone via GPS functionality
- Ability to send an alert with a custom alarm message to the phone (helpful to locate a missing phone)

Cons:
- None

Parents, if you need to know the location of your child this app will help you do so. And if you are like me and tend to forget where you placed the phone recently, then the alert is an extra bonus!

Well I'm afraid the old adage wins true here -- you get what you pay for.

Although it seems nice: great extension, good fit, etc; the product simply doesnt work. The sound will be fine but if you bumb the cord be prepared to spend 10 minutes finding the orientation of moving pieces of it around until the sound comes back and the screeching stops.

I would reccomend something gold lined instead and shell out a few more bones.

cheap wire inside....worked for a while, but the wiring inside broke. I am easy on my cables, so my verdict is that the wiring is just cheap.

Good cable that works, at a very good price. We use these 25' and 50' cables for everything from extending the distance between computer speakers, to extending the reach of head phones plugged into the TV for late-night viewing without disturbing others in the house. My daughter uses one of these cables for extending the reach between her earbuds and her iPod docking station when she is in her room. Sure is a lot cheaper than wireless headphones.
